July 22nd Fishing Report- Port City Charters
Had a regular client I see about once a month this morning. Started out looking for bait and quickly found pelicans diving on some bait a few hundred yards from the boat landing. What I thought was menhaden like we have been using for bait it ended up being a huge school of mullet. We loaded up on bait and hit the first spot and caught a few redfish keeper sized and one that was 28 inches.
Mr. Abshire wanted to catch a few sharks so we changed plans and headed out to the harbor to try our luck on some big sharks. After about 10 minutes in the first shark spot we caught a blacktip that measured about 3 foot and then we caught a sandbar shark that measured about 4.5 foot.
Great day with a repeat client. With August approaching we are expecting a great bull redfish, big shark and tarpon bite to fire up.
I look forward to fishing with you soon.
