July is a great month to not only go fishing here in Charleston but to also visit. Many tourist flock to the Lowcountry this time of the year to vacation at the beach and see all of the beautiful historical sites our city has to offer. Fishing this time of year is a great time for large fish and a lot of action.
In our hot summer months like June, July and August we tend to try to stay out of the backcountry creeks to not only escape the hot summer sun but to also escape the many bait stealers that tend to live in the creeks in the summer. Of course there are still Redfish, Speckled Sea Trout and many other inshore species still back there but the bait presentation can be difficult when Pinfish and croaker beat the targeted species to the food. This makes it very difficult to keep your hook baited and tends to waste a good amount of time off of your fishing charter. We strongly suggest fishing the harbor for larger Redfish, Sharks, Stingrays, Tarpon and Jack Crevalle.
Give us a call to get you and your family out there on the action. Things have been kinda slow since the Covid-19 pandemic but we are hoping for a brighter future.
