October 2020 Charleston, SC
October is always a strong transition weather and fishing technique wise. Typically by mid October we start seeing cooler air temperatures which bring the water temperatures down with it. In the fall with decreasing water temps, the bigger fish in the deeper water in the harbor will start to move out to our nearshore reefs to spawn and the smaller slot size fish in the creeks will begin to school up on structure for protection.
October was a very busy month for us considering Covid-19 hitting us this year. We are very fortunate to still be able to do what we love and make a living do it. The fish also cooperated and provided us with a very strong bite. We are seeing 20-30 fish in half day trips in the creeks and 8-12 bull redfish in the harbor. The month of October was a strong month and always is our repeat clients favorite time to come down for the hot bite. As we progress into November the bite will continue to be strong inshore and the harbor Bull Redfish bite will start to phase out as those bigger breeder Redfish will continue to move offshore to spawn on our nearshore artificial reefs December through February. The creek fishing inshore keeps us pretty busy November targeting those slot Redfish, Trout and Sheepshead.
We are looking forward to what 2021 brings us! Book online or give us a call if you have any questions!
